I have a real issue with NOT buying new makeup products. I get more satisfaction shopping for
beauty products than I do shopping for clothes and shoes honestly. Don't get me wrong shoes & clothing is a necessity, but there is always a new product to try every time you go to Sephora or Nordstrom or hell, even Target. Now on to the goodies I purchased over the last week.
Make Up Forever HD Powder: Last week I received my shipment from Sephora, which included some pretty awesome mini deluxe samples. First let me start with saying when I purchased these, there was a pretty amazing flash sale (still going on here) where you pay $10 a year (cancel at anytime) and you get free 2 day shipping for that entire year. Yeah, i totally signed up. Pays for itself in 1 online purchase. But back to the fun stuff. My favorite setting powder ever is my Make Up Forever HD Powder. I have tried so many from setting powders from NYX to NARS to Dermalogica & I always come back to MUFE HD Powder. The fine texture of the powder leaves a more seamless finish. All the others I've tried leave a fine white powdery finish, but MUFE leaves now powdery finish, just a lovely matte look. This one comes in 2 sizes with the smallest (the travel size) prices at $22. That alone last me at least 2 months if not 3. I bought the large sized one so lets see how long this one will last. It's twice the size!
Make Up Forever Step 1- Mattifying Primer: I have never had such luck when it comes to primer to control my oily t-zone, but this one from MUFE is pretty great. It doesn't keep my t-zone 100% oil free, but I can go through the day only blotting once maybe twice when I wear this one. It's a little pricey at $38, but you can go to Sephora and get a small sample to last at least a week. And if you do love this, Sephora has a travel size at $17 that will probably last a few months.
Sample time!! Yeah!! Now the Urban Decay Setting Spray I have both already & love them. But I wanted this tiny bottle that I could take with me on vacation and then refill to carry in my purse if I need to touch up through out the day. Now the TarteGuard I just wanted to get because the bottle was so damn cute. Plus it's important to wear sunscreen under your makeup if it's not already included. Not only does it help prevent skin damage & wrinkles, but you protect yourself from skin cancer. Now the Caudalie Micellare Water. I currently use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water & I love it, but I've heard great things about Caudalie, so when it's a free sample, why not! Hoping it turns out better than the Bioderma because that made me break out like crazy.
MAC Pinch of Peach Powder Blush: Since summer is here, I needed a new pinky blush. I usually use Dame by MAC, but I feel it's a little dark for summer, so I opted for this super pretty pink. A few swipes each morning and it last all day. MAC can sometimes feel pricey, but the pigment in their products are amazing & last all day.
MAC Powder/Blush Brush #129: When I was testing out blushes at MAC over the weekend, there was a moment when the MUA had to walk away and gave me her brush to test out a color. That brush was pretty damn amazing. I have about 5 different blush brushes and they are ok. None are that great, but this #129 from MAC... oh so good. It's pricey, not going to lie, but MAC brushes last. I have a few brushes from MAC I bought back in 2003, so I'm ok with paying $35 for 1 brush. I promise you, if you have the dough and can afford it, buy it. You will not regret it!
MAC Star Violet Eye Shadow: This is probably one of most favorite eyeshadows. It's not quite cranberry, but cranberry with a hint of copper. This color is so perfect for those of us with blue eyes. I don't know how MAC does it, but they have some of the most pigmented eye shadows around. I love my NYX because it was great and cheap, but the colors don't always last as long as MAC does. If you don't want to pay the $16 for 1 pot of eye shadow, MAC Pro stores have palettes you can purchase. You pay like $8 for a quad palette and you can mix 4 different eye shadows at $10 each. So you can buy 4 individual eye shadows for $64 or you can make your own palette of 4 eye shadows for $48. And don't forget about MACs recycle program. Bring back 6 of your finished products and you can get a lipstick for free. If you can get to a pro store, I believe you can get a blush or eye shadow instead of a lipstick! Pretty sweet deal!
